Important Dates
For Candidates, Parties, and Official Agents
- Writ Day, start of election period: January 29
- Preliminary Voters List Available: February 14
- Close of Nominations: Before 1:00 pm on February 16
Get signed nomination papers to the returning officer before 1:00 pm, or they will not be accepted. - Revised Voters List Available: February 20
- Advance voting open at returning offices and other
locations from February 20 to February 27 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday)
- Election Day: March 2
Voting stations are open 7:00 am to 8:00 pm., absentee and homebound ballots accepted at returning offices until 8:00 pm. - End of Candidacy and Campaign Period: May 3
Candidacy period ends two months after Election day. - Deadline for Financial Statements: July 2
Both candidates and registered political parties must file election financial statements with Elections Manitoba within 4 months of election day.
Note: Important dates that fall on a holiday (Sunday, for example) may have been changed to the next working day.
