Special Projects Coordinator

This is a full-time, 2-year casual position
New Closing date: February 12, 2010

Elections Manitoba is a non political and independent office of the Legislative Assembly responsible for conducting free and fair elections in Manitoba.  The mandate of the office includes making the electoral process more accessible to all voters.  The Special Projects Coordinator reports to the Manager of Elections Operations and will research, analyze, and make written reports on identified projects. The Special Projects Coordinator will make recommendations for further programs, systems or procedures for each project and then oversee the completion of the project.

Qualifications: A minimum of three years experience in project management or similar discipline is required. Strong organizational skills including the ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines are essential. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and concisely to explain process and procedures. You must have the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to establish strong working relationships with government agencies and outside organizations. Experience working in culturally diverse settings would be an asset. A valid driver's license and limited travel within Manitoba may be required, as is the ability to work flexible hours if necessary.
