Party Election Returns

FILING RETURNS

The financial officer of each registered party must file an election financial return with Elections Manitoba four months after election day. The return reports on the campaign period. The election return is in addition to the annual return filed by the party. For detailed information about what must be included in the election return, see section 62 of The Election Financing Act.

CAMPAIGN PERIOD AND FILING DEADLINE

The campaign period for the 2023 general election was September 5, 2023 to December 4, 2023 and the filing deadline is February 5, 2024. In some circumstances it is possible to have the deadline extended.

REIMBURSEMENT

Registered parties qualify for reimbursement if their endorsed candidates, in total, receive a minimum of 5% of the valid votes cast in the election. The amount of reimbursement will be shown on this page once the return has been finalized.
