PEGUIS FIRE EVACUEES

If you were affected by the fire in Peguis and no longer have required identification to vote, Elections Manitoba would like to make it easy for you to vote in advance with vouching.

You can do this by bringing somebody who knows you to the polling place with you. They will need to sign an oath affirming your identity. You will both need to already be on the voters list.

Under The Elections Act, vouching can normally only be used on election day. This change is being made using the Deputy CEO’s power to adapt, as per The Elections Act s.28(1)". This change only applies to voters directly affected by the fire in Peguis during the 2026 The Pas-Kameesak byelection.
